Shop Fit-Out Cleaning: Oxfam Charity Shop, Truro

Shop fit-out cleaning takes us right across the country fitting out all types of commercial properties, from retail shops to pubs and much more. 

One of the assignments that we have complete, took us all the way down to the most southerly part of the UK, Cornwall. 

We adventured through Cornwall stunning countryside, finally reaching our destination of Truro, Cornwall’s capital and only city. 

Truro sist less than 10 miles from the beautiful Cornish coastline and isn’t even the largest populated settlement in Cornwall. 

Independent shops and boutiques, cafes, bars and of course an abundant assortment of Cornish pasty shops sprawl Truro’s cobbled stone-paved streets. At its centre, you can find eloquent Georgian and Victorian townhouses, the Hall for Cornwall – which plays host to West End musicals, opera, ballet, musical acts and other entertainers – and of course the impressive Truro Cathedral, all in a stone’s throw –  it’s definitely a unique and vibrant place to work and live. 

We had the opportunity to work within the city centre, just off the main high-street refurbishing an Oxfam charity shop for Harvey Shopfitters. 

Our shop fit-out cleaning programme was established with two separate cleaning phases tendered for. The first phase consists of a builders clean, an initial clean to the building whilst it’s still very much under construction. The objective of the builders clean is to remove dust, debris and paint from various surfaces, from windows, walls, desks, floors and much much more. 

The builders clean is an important part of the construction process as it allows the works to be carried out with a much-improved outcome. The finish will be evident as each tradesman can identify the imperfections and detailed touch-ups required, that would otherwise go unnoticed if the clean was not carried out to a high enough standard.

Phase two of the shop fit-out clean was the sparkle – the final clean. A sparkle clean, as its name suggests, should leave a building pristine and sparkling, ready for the client to move all of their merchandise into the store. 

Carried out two weeks after the builders clean, the sparkle clean brings together the work of all trades and highlights the workmanship that went into constructing the newly refurbished charity shop for Oxfam. 

It can be meticulous work for our experienced shop fit-out cleaners, ensuring every surface is left to flawless, with no fleck of paint where it shouldn’t be, every surface dust fee and polished to perfection. 

Our team not only clean the internals but the externals also. The shopfront should be welcoming to all customers, luring those who walk by to take a peep into the shops’ offerings can be better achieved with a sparkling clean shop front. From the front entrance, signage and windows, Simply Cleaning will clean all externals, leaving them glistening and inviting to all.

At the request by the clients, we provide high-grade emulsion floor polish. Which, once dried, create a bright, high gloss, durable and slip-resistant finish. 

Oxfam, were more than delighted with their newly polished floors, even asking us if we could maintain them going forward.
